We are a team of materials engineers, ophthalmic experts, and entrepreneurs, who have pioneered the use of bottlebrush technology for the replication of the mechanics of soft biological tissue. We intend to implement our technology for the design of accommodative IOLs.
Mission
Traditional cataract surgery often results in a trade-off between near and distance vision. Standard replacement lenses, composed of rigid, unnatural materials, lack the flexibility to adapt to the eye's natural muscle movements. As a result, many patients continue to depend on glasses even after surgery, limiting their overall visual experience and causing overall dissatisfaction. Accolens aims to revolutionize vision correction by providing a comprehensive solution, using injectable materials that fully replicate the mechanics of the natural lens tissue. This approach allows us to correct both near and distance vision to dispose of the reliance on glasses and traditional contact lenses. Designed for easy, minimally-invasive surgical insertion, Accolens works in harmony with the eye's natural focusing muscles, reducing the risk of complications and enhancing visual clarity. By minimizing halos, glare, and other side effects, Accolens strives to restore the eye's natural focusing ability and improve overall vision quality.
